Roads in Romania

The East-West Motorway is a planned motorway in Romania with the following route (from west to east): Târgu Mureş, Sovata, Praid, Ditrău, Tulgheş, Poiana Largului, Târgu Neamţ, Paşcani, Târgu Frumos, Iaşi, Ungheni.

It will cross the Eastern Carpathians and will have a 307 km length with a total estimated cost of 6.14 billion Euro.

The motorway will be an alternative to the Pan-European corridors no. 4 and 9 and will connect the European Union with the Republic of Moldova. Currently, the feasibility study is conducted by a private contractor with construction proposed to begin in 2013.
